Key Route 12 is an east-west route that utilizes the brand new bike infrastructure on Wilson.
It will eventually connect through the new Wildflower development to the Larkspur Trail.
Legend
The route is color coded to indicate what level of rider is recommended for each section. Green represents multi-use paths, protected infrastructure, or quiet residential streets. Blue is used for bike lanes, shared low-traffic commercial streets, or busier residential. Black represents areas that only the most advanced riders would feel comfortable on: busy streets without bike lanes, very difficult intersections, or Bend’s highest traffic volume areas – namely 3rd, Hwy 20 and Hwy 97. Black can also represent unbuilt sections.

Wilson Corridor improvements • 2024
Wilson Avenue is getting a complete overhaul from 2nd to 15th. As of May 2023, construction is about halfway done. There is a new protected roundabout at 9th and a protected bike lane from 9th to 15th. Construction should finish in 2024.
Our suggestions
Overall we’re very excited by the improvements planned for Wilson. We’ll have a better idea of whether the protected bike lanes are truly comfortable for all ages and abilities once construction is complete. Check out our Bike Infrastructure page for more details.

- Getting permission from Old Mill for bikes to ride the path between SW Bluff Dr to SW Powerhouse Dr.
- Extending the bike lane protection on Wilson from 2nd St east to the roundabout at Bond.
