We’d like to see some changes in Bend that will bring safety and enjoyment to all people who ride bikes. Here are some ways we are advocating for improvements.
Bend Bike Map
We have created a new bike map that shows the various routes through bend with a color coded stress level.
Neighborhood Greenways
Routes through neighborhoods allow for low stress bike access.
Bike Equity
Bike equity requires representation, inclusion, and advocacy on behalf of all people who bike, including low-income people and people of color.
Protected Bike Lanes
Children and adults alike feel safer in lanes that are physically separated.
Complete Bike Network
People from all parts of town should be able to bike across town.
Accomplishments
- Initiated a protected bike lane demonstration which became permanent.
- Demonstrated a neighborhood greenway and collaborated to demonstrate the first two-way protected bike lane in Bend.
- Rallied testimony to City Council meetings.
- Organized successful petition drive, securing $1 million in funding for neighborhood greenways! A first for Bend!
