Some day, there won’t be sudden endings to bike lanes, and we’ll have a fully connected network of low stress neighborhood greenways to ride on in Bend. Heck, we can dream about protected bike lanes too. Until that day, it’s a challenge. A challenge to bike more.
Since you already bicycle to get where you need to go, you might as well get your mileage to count, right? If you haven’t already, go to https://www.lovetoride.net/oregon and sign up for the Bike More Challenge put on by the folks at The Street Trust (formerly known as the Bicycle Transportation Alliance.) The challenge lasts the month of May and it’s not too late to start!
To put a bow on all your hard work, we’re throwing a little party on June 5th from 7 to 8pm at The Lot on 745 NW Columbia Street in Bend. Deschutes Brewery has generously donated a keg. So come on down, put your feet up, have a beer on us and rub elbows with folks who, just like you, took on the #bikemore challenge to get around town by bicycle for a month.
