Midtown Bike and Pedestrian Connectivity Sooner Rather Than Later?

Tomorrow, the Citywide Transportation Advisory Committee (CTAC) is continuing its work to prioritize projects for the City’s Transportation System Plan.  The TSP will guide policies, programs and infrastructure investments for transportation in Bend for the next 20 years.

One of the key elements worth clamoring for quick implementation is better east/west bicycle and pedestrian connectivity projects on 3 major corridors along 3rd Street (Business 97): Greenwood, Hawthorne and Franklin Avenues. Send in your support to include these important connectors on the near-term priority list. Without their inclusion on the near-term list, it could be 5 to 10 years before these projects materialize. Email [email protected] (we’ll auto-forward your note onto the TSP folks) or provide testimony at tomorrow’s CTAC meeting.
