There’s nothing quite like a summer evening in Bend—warm air, the Deschutes flowing by, and live music filling the air at Hayden Homes Amphitheater. Getting there, though? Between traffic backups and packed parking lots, the trip can sometimes feel like more of a headache than a highlight. That’s where biking comes in.
At Bend Bikes, we believe getting to the places you love should be safe, simple, and sustainable. Riding to the amphitheater is one of the best ways to skip the stress of parking, breeze past traffic, and add a little more joy to your night out. With a connected, bike-friendly network, more of us can choose two wheels instead of four—making concerts easier to enjoy and streets safer for everyone.
Biking to shows isn’t just convenient—it’s also better for our community. Every trip by bike reduces pollution, lowers congestion, and helps protect the river and neighborhoods we cherish. Plus, riding together with friends or family turns the journey into part of the experience. Instead of circling for a parking spot, you’re rolling right up to the music, energized and ready for a great night.
And when the encore wraps up? That’s when biking really shines. While crowds are still inching toward the parking lots and waiting in long lines of cars, you can hop on your bike and ride straight home under the stars. It’s the easiest—and often fastest—way to end the night on a high note.
Our vision is a Bend where biking to Hayden Homes Amphitheater is the obvious choice: safe routes, secure bike parking, and streets designed with people in mind. That’s why we advocate for better infrastructure across the city—because when community destinations like the amphitheater are easily accessible by bike, we all benefit.
Ready to give it a try? Below, we’ve put together suggested routes from different parts of Bend to the amphitheater so you can find the safest, smoothest way to ride to your next show.
Northwest to Hayden Homes Amphitheater
This route starts at Compass Park in Northwest Crossing and travels down NW Drouillard Ave until you hop on the West Bend Trail. Turn right on NW 17th Street and then jog over from Davenport to Cumberland Ave to cross over to NW Allen Road when you are next to Columbia Park. Head down the hill and continue down past where the road is closed to cars on Shevlin Hixon Dr where you will find plenty of bike parking!
Northeast Bend to Hayden Homes Amphitheater
This is not the most direct route but stays on paths and roads with protected bike lanes for the most part. It starts on Purcell and then down Neff which can be a higher speed road. The route then turns onto the Larkspur Trail next to Pilot Butte and crosses under Greenwood/Highway 20 through the tunnel. Continue on the Larkspur Trail until you take a quick jog from Tempest Drive to 15th until it hits Wilson. Wilson now has a protected bike lane and a protected intersection at 3rd. Continue through the Old Mill and cross the flag bridge to the amphitheater.
Southeast to Hayden Homes Amphitheater
This is also not the most direct of routes but has a large portion on some pleasant paths. It starts on Brosterhouse Road to American Lane where it jumps onto the Canal Trail at Reed Market. Continue down the Canal Trail being careful where it crosses Brosterhouse again. Then use the flashing beacon crossing at 3rd and continue down under 97 and under Brookswood Blvd. Then cut over on the paths to the Deschutes River Trail, cross the horse bridge, and ride that along the river until you get to the amphitheater.
Southwest to Hayden Homes Amphitheater
This route starts at Brookswood and crossing do the Deschutes River Trail all along the river. Cross the horse bridge and continue down to the amphitheater. Not shown on this map, but another option if you are coming from the other side of the river is to use the Haul Trail all the way down along Colorado Avenue and turn right on SW Shelvon Hixon Drive.
