Today is a great day for a ride!
Spring is on the horizon, and there’s plenty happening in the world of biking here in Bend! First off, a big congratulations to our e-bike raffle winner, Devra O’Gara—enjoy the ride! 🚲⚡
We also need your help to keep the bike lanes on the Greenwood Quickbuild project. Your voice matters, so be sure to submit your comments in support of safe cycling infrastructure!
This month, we’re featuring a brand-new Our Favorite Route—perfect for discovering another great way to navigate Bend by bike.
And don’t forget to join us for some upcoming events:
🛞 Second Sunday Spokes – A casual community ride to connect with fellow people on bikes.
🍻 Bikes & Pints – A great chance to chat about bike advocacy over a drink.
We can’t wait to see you out there! Stay safe and keep pedaling!

Our Favorite Routes – Hillside Park to Farewell Bend Park
I love biking to parks and along the river in Bend. This is one of my favorite routes because once I get down to the Whitewater Park area, it’s great to watch people in the river and meander down some of the quieter streets in Bend.
*Special Bonus! We had a Bend Bikes community member write in to give us an alternate to our last Favorite Route from Orchard Park to Lava Lanes. They mentioned that it has fewer and shorter hills, plus it’s on low volume residential streets, except for a short Jones Road segment. Please see the alternate at the bottom of the page of the regular route.
Greenwood Avenue
The Greenwood Quickbuild project is at risk of being removed, with some people wanting to revert the street back to four lanes of traffic without a dedicated bike lane. This would be a major step backward for safety, accessibility, and the overall livability of our community. We have an opportunity to show our support for making these improvements permanent and ensuring that Greenwood remains a safer, more inclusive corridor for all road users—people on bikes, walking, rolling, transit users, and drivers alike.
Now is the time to take action. By voicing our support to the city council, we can help secure a future where our streets prioritize safety, sustainability, and mobility for everyone. Here are some key ways you can make a difference:
Take Action:
- Write a letter to the editor at your news outlet of choice in support of the changes on Greenwood.
- Take the Greenwood Ave Survey and comment about how much you like the new bike lanes!
- Write the city council letting them know your experiences on Greenwood ([email protected])
Congratulations to Our E-Bike Raffle Winner, Devra O’Gara! 🎉
