Bend Bikes wants to help connect people to community events and opportunities that promote engagement in active transportation and bike and pedestrian safety (and fun). The Oregon Department of Transportation is planning the “Deschutes Triangle”, a series of trails and paths from Bend to Redmond to Sisters to Bend. They are at the early stages of planning and have identified some ideas, some challenges, and a few possible route alternatives. They’d like to hear from all of us about how we’d use the route (e.g. biking, walking or rolling); if they’re missing opportunities for connectivity or alternative routes; and what we think is important (i.e. separation from traffic, the grade, trail materials, and if it should be usable by kids).
The open house is available until June 26 and you can email more detailed responses to Don Morehouse at [email protected] .
Take a few minutes to get acquainted and chime in on this exciting project. We’ll hear much more about it in the future.
