SUMMARY:North Unit Canal Trail Open House
DESCRIPTION:We’ve been thinking about how to utilize our bike/pedestrian trail systems in town to better connect to parks\, schools\, neighborhoods\, and businesses. It turns out Bend Parks and Recreation has been considering the same thing!  \nJoin Bend Parks and Rec on Saturday\, August 6th at Pine Nursery Park from 10 – 1pm to learn more about the proposed North Unit Canal Trail project. Cookies and cold drinks will be provided. A tour of the proposed trail begins at 12pm. Look for their tent next to the Empire Rd. trail underpass on the south end of the park\, view the venue website below for exact meet-up location.   \nThe first phase of the project proposes to connect Canal Row Park and the future extension of Yeoman Road. The Parks district wants to hear from the public about what will make this project a success. If you can’t make it to the in-person Open House\, complete the “North Unit Canal Trail Feedback” form on the website below.

We will meet at the Pilot Butte Neighborhood park shelter house at 10AM for a “party pace” ride along multi-use paths and bike lanes to the downtown Bend Saturday Artisan Market.  \nEnjoy a stroll around the market for some local wares then travel back with us via Wilson Ave. We’ll ride Bend’s only protected roundabout and make a stop at the eastside Bonta tasting room for your favorite locally made gelato!  \nJust in it for the gelato?
